Europeans and liberals of all stripes believe there is proof that the “soft socialism” of Europe works and that the USA should follow its lead. Is the temptation of government candy in the form of free health care, free education, guaranteed good-paying jobs, free/cheap housing, etc. really a free lunch? Or, is it bait for a trap?
What they do not see or grasp is that both Europe and China have been subsidized by American taxpayers for decades. If they succeed in conquering the free enterprise system in the U.S., the subsidies will disappear.
Following are some of the ways we are subsidizing those nations:
Providing military support for Europe by investing 4% of GDP in the military allowing them to spend 2% or less. Providing the vast majority of the funding for the UN, WHO and other global alleged NGO’s. Allowing them to sell their products in the U.S. tariff free, while charging U.S. companies huge tariffs. U.S. pharmaceutical companies selling their products in Europe at a great fraction of the cost charged to U.S. companies, hospitals and people. Europe hates President Trump because he is removing these subsidies. Without them, their nations and societies will fail economically into the same level of poverty we see in North Korea and Venezuela.
China, on the other hand is credited with pulling more people out of poverty than any other nation. But, it was also done completely from subsidies of the U.S. taxpayers.
In addition to the above subsidies, China uses slave labor to undercut the prices of highly paid Americans, which drove so many American businesses into China.
As with Europe, China hates President Trump because he started eliminating all of these forms of subsidy. China is undoubtedly on the verge of collapse without them.
The thing that parasitic liberals, leftists, socialists, communists and Democrats do not see is that if they kill their host, they will eventually die too. There is no one to subsidize the USA. When our level of productivity falls to their level of productivity, it will be poverty and starvation for all.
If the pseudo-elites get control of We the People, we will not be able to produce and they will starve too. As we know, power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. If they succeed, all they will have is absolute power over nothing.
And there will be nowhere to flee.

The timing is terrible. I am not quite ready to retire. After 4 more years of Trump I think I would have been ready to sell everything and disappear off the tax radar, now I will be lucky to be allowed to keep my house because I have foolishly spent decades restoring it
Socialism is a parasite system must suck off wealth from a host. If the host dies then it must find a new victim else it too dies.
Same with the medicine. We pay high prices for drugs while they pay low prices and say “see how good government health care is”.
