The main difference is the Nanczi isn't in charge of the security in this case; where the Capital is purposely and intentionally undermanned as was true on January 6th.
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when Nanczi and Capt. Sund had that phone conversation about security at the Capital for the "Don't Steal the Vote".

Anywhere else, the Capital fiasco would be called a "set up", with an intentional lack of security for several hundred thousands of people.
Given that it was an orderly demonstration to save the vote, except for some invaders who were already stationed at the Capital and not present for Trump's speech.
The Capital invasion was begun almost an hour prior to the conclusion of Trump's speech; Trump was already 45 minutes late to give the speech;
the crowd at the speech couldn't have made the 45 minute walk and participated in the Capital invasion.
The invaders were an entirely separate group who were let into the building, at some locations, by the Capital police.
In other words : It was a set up / It was a trap !

There is a difference between the ordinary people who attended the "Don't Steal the Vote" rally,
and the invaders at the Capital who were armed with plastic shields and lumber used to break windows and forcibly gain entry.
The difference is ordinary folk vs. invaders.
