I really don't understand what the protestors were expecting. If all they did was stand outside and shout/sing/march/wave-flags then the electoral college vote would have proceeded as expected and Biden would have been elected.

If the protestors (and not just Antifa) had made a real effort to break into the Capitol then that would have been bad optics.

There were reports ahead of time that Antifa was planning to infiltrate, so why wasn't there a line of men pushing back on anyone trying to break into the Capitol?
