When dealing with a person who was known to be shady you always knew that person would do something shady so you could prepare and counter act.
I always regarded Pence as someone who fit the first category.
Let me put the shoe on the other foot. Those in business who are known Christians are almost always asked or are expected to give some sort of financial break or other over goods or services because they are religious; even if doing so would cause a loss of functional and otherwise fair profit. When they say they can’t and have to stand firm on the price then often such religious people are said to be greedy and “not really Christians”! Now a religious person as an offering or a tithe may offer some poor person in need a break or some financial consideration.
Now anybody Christian or not can be honest or dishonest so you have to be prudently wary with everyone not just professed Christians; a friend of mind tells me horror stories about dealing with the mainland Chinese over business dealings.
Pence I suspect will not come out of his comfort zones and not given to what maybe speculation about vote fraud despite what he may feel in his gut. He fears that the nation is close to self destructing and hopes that the shafted good people will listen to their better angels and go away quietly and maybe God will favor them another day. I fear the softer voices will not hold sway and horrors are coming. There should have been an open look at all the ballots comparing the paper ballot tabulations with the official recorded votes. If everything matched then the conservatives would have grumbled and went home. But the Libs played all sorts of Lucy Van Pelt baiting games playing “snatch the football” with us stumbling Charlie Browns by promising audits but then not actually doing them, so why should we trust that the elections were transparent?
