It only takes about $1 of carpet shampoo to clean our house.
Multiply that out to 55,000 sq ft. Shampoo plus a crew of 10 @ $20/hr for an 8 hour day = $1650 of taxpayer dollars. We’re getting stiffed again.
You think you can get people who are vetted well enough to access all the areas of the White House for $20/hr? Do you have any idea how much the clearance process costs? And 10 people to properly clean 55,000 square feet in one day? Seriously?
Assume we’re talking at least 55 people (that’s 1,000 square feet - or half a decent size house - per person cleaning to White House standards) and assume their actual cost (not what they’re making, but the cost to maintain them and their benefits and insurance and clearances) is more like $40/hr. Then add equipment and cleaning supplies and overhead (such as all those Federal taxes). I come up to around $30,000 and I’m sure I’m missing some things.
