In any conflict take out the Three Gorges Dam first. Then mop up what’s left.

It depends on where this war will be fought.

The Japanese method of moving production of Japanese branded products out of China is the right path forward.

Not with the cowardly mask zombies and the despicable defeatists I’ve recently been seeing on FR. Thank goodness these surrender monkeys were not around in the late 1770’s. If they were we would still be British subjects.

I'm sad to say this, but no. Most electronics for our weapons are made in China and a big defense company is owned by a French company owned by China. Some of our defense suppliers are not American owned and I heard that China wants to buy General Dynamics (our biggest sub builder) and Biden supports that.

Besides, most youth were raised to hate America, so you won't get volunteers and the draft will make the Vietnam War look like a tea party.

Neither nation can take and hold the other's territory WWII-style. On the other hand, neither nation can defend allied territories near the borders of the opponent - we can't do much to save Taiwan from invasion, just as China could not do much to save Venezuela from a determined US assault.

The nation to watch is Singapore. Not only have they become a powerful financial hub, but they have taken in over a million Chinese immigrant workers over the past decade - many of whom are no doubt PLA plants and spies. The Lee family has been on good terms with the US, but a future Singaporean prime minister backed by a China-infiltrated government could easily turn away from a relationship with the distant and ineffective US government and sign a new agreements with China allowing their "Han Chinese brothers" to build a huge PLA Navy base and other military installations.

Using Singapore as a base and an immensely powerful "colonial" outpost, China would quickly dominate Malaysia and Indonesia and be capable of interdicting all shipping traffic between Asia and the Middle East and Europe, cutting off not only Japan and South Korea but even Australia and New Zealand. They could pull off everything Japan tried to accomplish in WWII, and the US would have little ability to stop them from dominating the affairs of Asia-Pacific nations, even if China does not go so far as to actually invade and conquer those countries. Chinese Emperors have preferred tribute to conquest, in most cases.

David slew Goliath with a rock and sufficient will to get the job done.
We can vanquish China, one strike on a dam could do it, but would we have the will?

Biden’s brings back Washington’s most important ‘norm’: “YOU don’t notice ME selling out our country to china and I won’t notice YOU selling our country out to china..”

Also knows as ‘the Biden Doctrine’...

IMO militarily - yes, politically we would be defeated.

If the military would be allowed to pursue it strengths it is a potent fighting force capable of defeating any foe.

A biden administration would use the think tank strategy devoid of leadership and full of consensus to make critical decisions. Unfortunately political dithering and artificial constraints put in the ROEs would cripple that capability. Most likely the constraints would be in the form of failure to recognize the threat in time to react and graduated escalation/response like in Viet Nam.

The bottom line, is the politicians will lose the war because they will us the military for signaling national resolve rather than winning the war with crushing power.

The Navy needs to immediately stop all contracts for Ford CVNs, LCS, DDG-1000s. Use all existing models as training or send to scrap. Reinvest in basic infrastructure and maintenance.

The Air Farce needs to stop the same way, F-35s are not survivable in a peer conflict and must remain far behind the front to guard AWACS and airfield assets. Needs to develop a comparable BRV missile to the Russians and Chinese were the AF is out ranged. The R-37M has hit targets out to 210 Nautical MILES carried by the modernized MiG-31BM interceptors and Su-35S and Su-57 multirole fighters.

We can lock them out of our tech and force them to pay for their own damned research. That literally is our one and only hope.

They have a massive corruption problem that will not be cured so long as the CCP rules by intimidation and fear. They are unfit to lead the world, and if they ever do it won’t be for long because they cannot run things sustainably and will collapse without tribute. You need the rest of the world to profit for tribute to work.

Our best chance is to stop feeding the beast. Stop buying their products, lock up the people who steal and give away our technology.

The rest of the world is in this pickle with us. Partner with them to root out the people who have been bought off by the CCP to sell the world out.

I’ve been saying for years the US needs to team up with Russia before Russia and China team up against us. Well, it’s too late.

“can America defeat China in a war?

Would you get into a fight with a neighbor with whom you are heavily invested in many of his companies and properties and are reliant on him for much of your food? I certainly wouldn't......

Easy, blockade any of their shipping coming into America and suspend any food production from Chinese owned plants within America.
They are short on food and coal.

When you take the advancements in aircraft and missiles the ides that your traditional shipyards will be free to build ships is somewhat far-fetched. The next war will be won by dominating space and the air and by submarines.

America would be much better served by building many hidden, distributed, underground manufacturing sites for aircraft, drones, missiles, and submarines. The US should also have a plan for rapidly moving the equipment and personnel of defense contractors to these sites.

I am sure that a lot of this has been done but combatants usually try to fight the last war first until they are force to use newer technologies or to invent them.
