Politicians are idiots, almost by definition. Yesterday during the Georgia Senate committee hearing, a state election official happened to mention in passing that the Dominion tabulators were connected to a server. Not one of those idiots thought to inquire about WHO has custody of that server (the state of Georgia or Dominion), or if that server has an Internet gateway.
Most likely the server does have an Internet gateway, and the claim that the voting machines are “air-gapped and not connected to the Internet” comes down to a setting in a software firewall. Basically one mouse-click.
Correction, it was the Arizona Senate committee, regarding the vote in Maricopa Country.
