The Indians had several pre-Indians names, including the Naps/Napoleons and the Bluebirds.
There was a deifferent franchise in Cleveland of note called the Cleveland Spiders.

In 1915, the Cleveland Plains Dealer publishes an article explaining the reason AL Cleveland franchise is changing their nickname from "Naps" to "Indians" is to honor Louis Sockalexis, the 1st Native American to play in MLB. Sockalexis played in Cleveland from 1897 to 1899.So what arethey changing the name to? Cleveland Spiders? They had such a great season in 1899, didn't they?
How about the Cleveland Grovers and use the Sesame Street character as the mascot?
