Isn’t is funny how Republicans never have standing in anything?
Agreed, but IF Biden gets in, my thoughts are there will not be anything left of America to qualify as a prize. Research Argentina and their long road down the toilet...it began with a socialist government elected after they had a currency crisis....do note the USD has spiraled down to 89-90 range and heading lower. That said, I still maintain somehow Trump will prevail.
Hate to break it to you, Battman, but more stuff will happen after Monday......
we denied Obama a supreme court nominee for nearly a YEAR!
“Trump said he would concede if the electors voted for Biden.”
As I’ve pointed out earlier, those were not HIS words. Those words were in a question he was asked.
He replied, “Certainly I will... but there will be a lot of things happening between now and the 20th” of January.
In other words, he was referring to the ENTIRE process of certifying, voting, transmitting, counting, objecting, etc.
The fight for retaining this office is not over until January 20. And if it does come to a vote in the House (one vote per state) and this duty is not fulfilled by March 4, the Vice President (elect) would assume the presidency. Since these are decided simultaneously, the only point here is that the inclusion of this date implies the current president stays in office until the issue is resolved, even AFTER January 20.
The problem is that, short of open war, there are not many remedies to election fraud if the electoral votes are not disqualified by January 20. Since there is a remedy provided to Congress, I am doubtful the Supreme Court would move to decertify any electoral votes certified and transmitted by the states.
If I was Mike Pence and very brave, I’d add a step between the opening and counting of votes by shredding and burning the ones where open fraud has been proven. Then I’d defy anyone to do anything about it.
It’s not over now. It won’t be over Monday. Regardless of who is sworn in on January 20 (assuming this happens), there will be war.
In my opinion, the best outcome will require calling in the troops before January 20, under Marshall law.
Thanks for your answer, I feel better. If Trump isn’t giving up, neither will we.
That would be fine as long as it was the California Legislature that wrote the rules. But that's not what happened here. It's a slam-dunk that state governors and state judges changed the rules for conducting the election without legislative approval and that puts it in violation of Article II of the Constitution.
Thankfully, that won't occur.
Bttt!
In-part based on statements made by Democrats prior. One of those cases where one’s statements can come back to bite.
That being said - overall, the Senate was pretty generous to Obama with his appointees (far more so than the Dem-controlled period during the GW Bush time - though as we see by Roberts, it might have been a blessing).
