Seth is thought to have handed off physically- a thumb drive or other device such as a sim card/memory card to a WIKI LEAKS representative and got himself killed for doing so, sometime thereafter.
The data transfer clues indicate a rate that far exceeds what could be transferred online realistically, and was likely accomplished from a locale (piece of hardware) “on site.”
