I know of two things that a vote tabulator can do other than simply add up the single votes for each candidate. One is to assign a weight to each candidate's votes, such as 1.2 for each Biden vote and 0.8 to each Trump vote.

Another is to allow people to vote for more than one candidaate and then have their first choice count more than their second or third. I think that Maine may do this. I don't think it should be allowed in federal elections.

The key is to have open source software. The political elites have no interest in fair elections so it won't happen.
