You are right about that.
I once knew a co-worker who was a cute girl but had a major thing for bad boys. She married one. Guy always got into fights and was arrested multiple times.

Well, he ended up beating her up and while they were divorcing he killed her in front of her kids with a shotgun.

My sympathy meter was reading pretty low throughout the ordeal and hearing the news.
