What level of confidence would you assign to the propositions that:
- Hydroxychloriquine, taken with zinc and an antibiotic at the earliest stage possible in the progression of Covid, substantially reduces the impact of the disease in most cases, and
- Hydroxychloriquine, in a proper dosage for Covid, is about as safe as any medicine which requires a prescription (possibly including tonic water, which does not require a prescription).
I do not do outpatient medicine so I don’t have much of an opinion on early treatment with hydroxychloroquine. the studies i have seen are equivocal. safety in the short term is fine there are serious side effects to long term use that need to be monitored if someone wants to take it for longer than a couple of weeks
