In Virginia we did the fill in the bubble thing with the black ink pen then fed it into the machine. I was VERY unhappy when it just said VOTED and didn’t show the selections I made. Didn’t like it one, single, solitary, bit!

Same thing with me too. I inserted my ballot into
the machine and the screen said my votes had been counted.
Previous machines would increment a digital counter that
that would show how many ballots the machine had received.
Not this time. The machine would also provide a receipt
showing that you voted. This time, nothing was provided
that showed a person's vote was counted or even received.
