Isn’t the point of the SCIF to block all information transmission, in or out?

The point of the SCIF is to ensure only those with the proper clearance and need to know have access to the compartmented information.

es and no. SCIFs are basically really secure rooms and or buildings. Extra attention is given to entry points like hvac and network cabling etc etc. There are specific entry procedures depending on the level of classification inside. At least 2 factor identification required.

No unauthorized electronic devices are allowed. Cell phones, key fobs, USB devices, wifi capable or Bluetooth devices to include fit bits and smart watches.

A scif can have have several different completely segregated networks available. Unclassified, secret, TS, TSSCI, SAP, centrix, etc all with their own capabilities such as data and voice. Most TSCIFs will have unclassified, secret, and TSSCI at each work station.

Feel free to ask and I’ll give as much as I can.
