I remember that night! I was out shopping and some people were excitedly telling each other Gore had won, then there was the last-minute update about the contested Florida votes, and a collective “Huh.”

There are people now who “just want it all to be over” and for Trump to “leave peacefully.”

This nation needs to put on its big boy/big girl pants and deal with the actual legal count. I think there is less patience for that among the low-information voters (well, that’s a term I have NOT heard used this election cycle, for some reason) today.

As I recall the people in 2000 were collectively more willing to deal with a month’s worth of discomfort and uncertainty.

Right now the media is trying hard to force feed them.

Because the media was 100% for Al Gore and constantly pushed the “all(fake) votes must be counted “ refrain.
