I get and love (most of the time) Federalism, but there clearly should not be 50 individual methods for doing elections. If for no other reason than efficiency!! C’mon man. This is just stupid on principle, and that’s before I go into a fit of rage about zero oversight and standardization being a textbook recipe for FRAUD.
Started with Teddy Roosevelt, Wilson, then Coolidge, Harding, FDR and onward.
At least these 7 are persistent in their right to vote.
PS: I was friends with one of Teddy Roosevelt’s granddaughters, Edith Kermit Roosevelt, a reporter for the Manchester Union Leader, Vermont. She was a nice person but was treated as the black sheep of the family esp by the older Edith Roosevelt and one of the sons.

We love the East Texas "Piney Woods", too! That's why we decided to retire on the old family farm -- a little over five miles from the point (called, "Three States") where the (E-W) joint AR/LA boundary intersects the (N-S) Texas boundary.
We're ~80 miles north of Center -- which is also in the East Texas "Piney Woods".

(Some more cartographic trivia while I'm "on" Google Earth): The above (N- S) Texas boundary begins at the point where the 32nd parallel intersects the Sabine River -- then runs due North to the Red River.
Center, Texas, is 16.2 miles SSW of that point of beginning on the Sabine River...
IOW & FYI, both Center and our place are not far from Louisiana -- and (in air miles) it's farther from Center, Texas to El Paso, Texas -- than it is from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles, California... '-)
