Th surprising thing is that authenticating a computer's original ownership, provided its last possessor was its original owner, is really simple. The first thing that happens when a new computer is initially activated by its owner is it connects with the manufacturer over the Internet and initiates a registration process. I've done it with an Apple and several HPs. Thus, an investigator who's trying to establish ownership of any such machine can first contact its manufacturer to determine who its first owner was. My guess is that's just what the FBI did with the Biden computer. Throw in the signed work order and contents that line up with other, similar materials on others' machines and the link was a lead pipe cinch.

I read somewhere there were 3 or 4 laptops dropped off by Biden. At least one had damage from liquids. All were owned by the Beau Biden Foundation.
