The EXACT reason he "snooped", as any handler of computing assets knows, is that if you become possesor/owner of an asset and it may in any way contain anything in which possesion equals culpability for a crime, you would be a fool to not examine it and as the case is here make a copy just before you call the authorities within 5 minutes... There is no other option... I've worked with the Feds. and seen the consequences of non-diclosure... Try it and see how your life goes... (Please don't)...
