Which ancestor sprang from the Democrat-Republicans, the Whigs (Which begot the Republican Party and "Conservatives" that eventually joined the Democrat Party) or the Democrats?
I guess the 1824 split never happened in your multi-universe version which you live in and "they" all became Democrats, dropping the Republican name including John Quincy Adams.
