Whitney Houston - Star Spangled Banner
You tube ^ | Feb 13, 2012 | CavBuffaloSoldier

Among the annals of national anthems as a prelude to sporting events, few have topped the one delivered by Whitney Houston before Super Bowl XXV in 1991 in Tampa. A woman, her incredible voice and the bare minimum of extraneous notes. Her rendition came at a particularly patriotic time, just after the onset of the Persian Gulf War, and was released as a single. It was re-released after the September 11th terrorist attacks. Houston donated all proceeds to charity. She ranks among the best of all-time because of the circumstances and ... that voice

I know this has been posted many times but I think it needs to be posted again. What a beautiful tribute to our national anthem. Black Lives Do Matter and Whitney shows it!

They should have played this on the Jumbotron when that Egyptians boyfriend was starting up. Roger gooddall should have made it happen. But he is by de facto as much of an America hater as the original.

Yeah, not an overabundance of notes only dogs can hear. Poor woman, had a great talent, but such a sad life.

When I served in the ME, many of the locals would say that Americans had a love for their country that they saw in the Star Spangled Banner being sung at sports events. They also told me the Europeans were not so much in love with their country and seemed to be dead in their Faith. Just saying....

In my opinion, this is THE best rendition of the National Anthem ever made. If you look at the entire set up, what a difference. It was pro America all the way complete with a fly-over by F16s. Makes me sad and angry at the same time.

“Do you have to pay now to get youyube videos?”

No.

But YouTube seems to have a full court press going to push people over to their pay site and they’re doing it by inundating just about every YouTube video I see with commercials right in the throughout the videos.

“ Best rendition ever.”
I agree. She and Jessye Norman (opera singer) were the two greatest singers that ever lived.
Unfortunately, Whitney suffered from the disease of addiction.
I am sure she and Jessye, who died of a septic infection last year, are singing angels in heaven.
