Since his wife was shot by a crazy person, not a gun, maybe he should advocate for more attention be paid to the care of people with mental health issues.
No, it's because he has a (D) after his name.
To paraphrase Sen. Dianne "I carry a gun for self defense but you can't" Feinstein (D - PRCA), the dogma is strong with his party.
Leftist schizophrenics.
Schizophrenics are that way. I had a friend with schizophrenics son who sometimes just randomly attacked people on the streets. They did everything they could to control him, but he still had episodes. Of course they kept all guns out of his reach!
Very sad story. Nice conservative couple, only son, gifted and nice. Then in puberty, he just snapped! He cannot work, he is just living danger to the society! He really cannot help himself.
What we need is to assure to keep guns out of the reach of these people. (Schizophrenics and similar maniacs, most mentally ill people are actually harmless) Republicans proposed a system of information about people like this, but got shut by the dems. They will rather keep the guns out of everybody that fix the real problem.
