I’m not talking about search and destroy. They WILL ENGAGE rioters with a show of force (armored vehicles) like they did in Baltimore for Freddy Grey and yes they have new asymmetric warfare (less than lethal) technology to stop this. This is called escalation of force tactics which I am very familiar with.
The Democratic mayor gets to decide whose side he is on—quickly.
If he orders a curfew and enforces it to the letter there will be no riots.
If he refuses to do so, then he is a co-conspirator with the rioters.

Yes as a last resort. They no doubt will show up with MRAP vehicles equipped with .50 cal/M240B with either MCTAGS turret or RWS mounted to show force. But they will have the big time non-lethal devices along with close up non-lethal tactical equipment this time to start with.
