I agree with you. Rush is wrong. Going directly to a vote would give the dems ammo to say that is was not fair to push through the nomination vote. It would look bad prior to the election.
There are 22 Senators on the Judiciary committee. Give each Senator x amount of time to speak so that it is over in 3 days. Then the next day call for the vote in the full Senate.
Swear in the new Justice the following day.
The Dem Senators will make fools out of themselves beating up a woman on national tv. It is bad optics for the dems.
