I’ve seen a lot of non-governmental organizations getting their hands dirty in the illegitimate vote trade. IT should be banned outright, except for just advocacy and encouragement.
I know in MA you can register online. You have to provide an ID number from a MA government issued ID.
If you don’t have a MA issued ID you have to do it in person.
The on line services may screen scrape this information from their site to the MA site—but the confirmation tool is necessary, and it is checked against voter lists.
So, it they follow standard database security it would be tough to scam it.
I only know about my state. It probably varies state to state.
Here is another issue not being discussed.
If you are sent a “vote-by-mail” ballot, even if you did not request it, you are “on-record” as having been sent a ballot.
This means that if you show up to vote in person, you have to have your mail-in-ballot in hand to surrender before you are allowed to cast your vote. This is to prevent a person from double voting.
If you plan to vote in person and get a vote by mail ballot, do not destroy or discard it, you will need to turn it in at the polls to be able to vote in person.
I was getting all sorts of pop ups at instagram regarding voter registration.
Maybe you can contact your county’s board of election and see if there is any place you can forward, or send a copy of these emails to, so they know what is going on, and can then, perhaps, send them on to whoever investigates this stuff.
