One technique they have used in the past week is to put him outdoors at mid-day in strong sunlight, so he squints. This makes it less apparent that from his pupil movements he is reading a teleprompter. But it is highly conspicuous - because you never see this on television in news or other settings. If you have time to set up a shot on a sunny day, you either do not shoot at high noon and wait for a lower angle sun - or you set up a tent/awning to shade the subject in the picture. That way they are not holding a grimace/squinting to protect their eyes. Shot with a mild telephoto - you get the subject in the foreground with a relaxed face and eyes, and a brightly lit backdrop. That is normal. Joe in the open at noon on a sunny day? That is a deliberate effort to obscure Biden’s need to read (a teleprompter)!
