That site is infected. YOU have a problem if your copy of MB can’t detect it.

Opera/Chrome/Pale Moon browsers:
This site can’t provide a secure connection
americanshootingjournal.com sent an invalid response.

Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

Norton 360 is a full service real time antivirus suite; Malwarebytes Premium is a full service real time antivirus suite. You never ever run more than one suite of real-time protection tools simultaneously on the same PC... that is asking for trouble. You are wasting system resources while the two software suites work against each other. This causes unpredictable results, along with file and system corruption.

I have been a computer hobbiest since the late 1970s. When I was a student I worked in the computer lab maintaining the systems and helping other students with their “home work”. There has never been a time in my adult life when I was not working with PCs. I have been a go to resource for friends and coworkers all this time as well. I cannot tell you how many systems that I have restored to working condition by removing conflicting antivirus programs.

Thanks for the suggestion, but ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR is not a diagnostic tool it is an error message you receive when there is a problem with a website that you cannot connect to securely.

I used four different browsers to connect securely to https://americanshootingjournal.com/ and none of them have reported a problem. The problem that you have is with your system... it very well may be corrupted... from running multiple anti-virus programs simultaneously.

I had a thought... I always use adblockers. It is possible that one of the ads on the site is triggering your antivirus protection. Instead of using two full service antivirus suites simultaniously, you might think about picking just one and using an adblocker. My favorite currently is AdBlock Plus.

I am running Ad Block Plus.
I’m also running MB Premium and Norton 360 Premium, and have turned-off MB, but am still getting the virus warning.
Norton 360 Premium is issuing the virus warning.

Have you scanned your machine to make sure the Shooting Journal is safe, and that you don’t have a latent virus? That used to be a favorite site for me to visit, until 3-4mos ago.

My computer is having no issues and it has been scanned multiple times since your warning. I would contact them myself, but I have no information that would be helpful to them.

You might try contacting them at: media@media-inc.com and reporting the issue that you are concerned about. My guess is that they would want to get to the bottom of whatever is causing your issue.

You have reported that your A/V protection is reporting the entire domain is infected so you may not be able to get to their site, but the primary email was found at:

Please share the info if you get a response. One of the few sites that I have got warnings about in the past has been Free Republic itself... usually due to an expired certificate or something of that nature.

Good job! And thanks for letting them know of your difficulties so they could take care of it. It sounds like a confirmation, so I apologize for my skepticism and smart Aleckyness.
