“Another puzzling result from the FOX News poll is their results showing only 5% of the Black vote supporting President Trump. Rasmussen with a much better track record shows President Trump currently bringing in 30% of the Black vote and 44% of the other non-white vote.”
This is a consistent conflation of “approval” with “votes”. Blacks might “approve” of Trump, but many of these “approvers” will vote for Biden. While Trump will likely garner a greater black vote (perhaps 12-20%) than historically goes to the GOP candidate, it really is unlikely Trump will garner 30% of the black voters.
probably right but a counter argument is Trump is actually making a very strong play for black voters. He has targeted a lot of his campaign and rhetoric towards the black vote. Usually it’s just conceded so let’s see and be hopeful.
Are Hispanics automatically counted as "other non-white"? Or do they rely on the person being polled to say how they classify themselves? The poll breakdowns typically have a "white" number and a "Hispanic" number, suggesting that someone can't be both. Logically it should not, since many Hispanics are in fact white.
They should just get rid of the Hispanic category. But the Democrats like because it's part of their identity politics.
Then there are those of us who simply view ourselves as ‘American’ and refuse to be pigeon holed. I think many people in all groups are beginning to fall into that category.
