Ballots don’t need to show the candidate and the candidate doesn’t even need to be alive. If you read the fine print you are voting “for electors pledged to..(name of candidate). If that line gets the most votes those electors meet and vote for whoever they are told to vote for or they can go rogue and vote for somebody else.

Laws vary from state to state. And as you know, the recent Court decision says that those states that don't allow rogue electors can disqualify rogue electors. At the very least, it would be confusing for a voter who is told that a vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Bernie Sanders or Gavin Newsom or Andrew Cuomo or whoever.
