My heart goes out to you and your loved ones.
You should be able to get access to your Facebook again with your Drivers License.
I am glad you are safe. Theres no explanation that makes sense for not sounding alarms.
Oh my goodness, Aunt B.
I just now saw your post, and it so hurts my heart to learn about all that you’ve lost.
I remember you from the early FR days. My beloved 1John and I always enjoyed your posts. John died in 2002, but I am still in the Medford area—living in a small apartment in Grants Pass—and want to know how I can help.
Don’t know how to do freepmail, but if you do, send me one and I’ll give you my phone #, if that’s ok with you.
It's not like the city. Getting the word out to everyone is nye impossible. There are properties spread all over the valley and hillsides. They are both so small (Phoenix pop. 4,650 and Talent, pop. 6500) that they don't have many resources, equipment or staff to handle large, devastating disasters like this without help from the state and federal government.
The Harry and David fruit company and a lot of their orchards are in Medford and Phoenix. Their pear orchards used to surround my farm. They are probably burnt to the ground now.
These little towns will take decades to recover if they ever do. There is not much of an economy there except timber receipts and much of that has now gone up in smoke.
So sad.
Prayers up, Aunt and your cat.
