Pathetic.
The “emergency powers” laws in every state, county, township, and city in the nation need to be reworked. There has been nothing but outright abuse of them for months.
No more of one person issuing sweeping, open-ended orders for their entire area of influence that stay in place until they say so.
Specific circumstances, short periods of time only (7-14 days max), and requiring legislative/board/council approval to be enacted and every time it’s renewed, with all persons involved being known, named, elected officials.
If some sudden cataclysm occurs that requires immediate measures, then a governor, etc, can issue an order, but it only lasts 48 hours until a governing body is convened to publicly vote to extend it.
I agree. Governors are not Kings.
