The book
Silent Coup claims that Woodward was in on a coup that used the Watergate break-in to take out Nixon cuz he wasn't doing the bidding of the Military Industrial Complex.
A conspiracy theory no doubt, but rather convincing.

Wouldn't give Woodward the benefit of the intelligence needed to be in on ANY coup attempt.
A useful idiot, certainly. But in on it? Not hardly.

Silent Coup is a great book. LOTS of references in the back. Woodward claimed that he had never been in the military. The book showed the documentation proving otherwise.
I think he was working for Admiral Moorer to spy on Kissinger and Nixon during the secret peace talks. Woodward was a communications/radio guy iirc.
