I feel the same way, so I am not averse to your use of the fist bump...it just isn’t me. This verbiage below is not directed towards you.
Personally, I like and appreciate the handshake. It means something to me. It is significant.
People say “Oh, this is the “new normal” so you have to do it this way” and I say BS to that.
If I am going to give up a meaningful custom, I will do so on the basis of truth and a real need to do so, not on the basis of a manufactured crisis being used by the Left to erode the foundations on which we stand and relate to each other.
Strange how all other deaths decreased massively during a COVID-1984 period.

We’ve been had and are being taken for a hard ride into draconian government and terror tactic information control.
Someone should do a study using official death figures from the past several years. Establish a baseline death rate for the major, normal natural causes of death: heart disease, cancer, respiratory, etc. Then compare the death rates from those causes for the period of March-August, 2020. Any bets that the death rates in those categories for that period are way below expectations? If that’s the case, it would strongly imply that many deaths coded as covid deaths are miscoded.
So when you dies of “car accident” and “COVID,” you died of “COVID.”
We see where you are coming from. It’s a position of ignorance.

So, I go down to the local dialysis center, and empty a 30 round magazine from my M1 Carbine into the patients. I reload and empty another magazine. End result - 10 deaths, and multiple injuries.
I’m arrested and hauled before a judge. The verdict is, among other things, multiple counts of 1st degree murder.
I tell the judge that, since they were all on dialysis, they were all going to die anyway, and it wasn’t me that killed them, it was the co-morbidities.
So, my question is, will I be indicted for murder?
You are trying logic in a world where logic does not exist.
These are the same people who believe that “influenza” is a cause of death listed on death certificates. (It is not.)
These are the people who cannot fathom how death count are historically figured in a pandemic/epidemic. (Hint: They won’t know for a couple of years until they can review ALL of the causes and counts of deaths in an area, over previous periods.)
All “epidemics” or “pandemics” count their deaths as the number of deaths over what would be expected during the same period, adjusted for population changes.
In EVERY epidemic or pandemic, the weak and vulnerable die. They die because they are weak and vulnerable.
The question is whether or not they would be dead today if the epidemic or pandemic had not infected them.
But, fifteen minutes of reading is too difficult for some of these people. They do not understand research. They do not understand critical thinking. And they do not take the time to explore “how” stuff is done.
Instead, they use their fifth grade math and try to sound smart and clever, using “common sense.”
That is the problem when you are comparing research information with American Legion Hall Bar information.
They didn’t. It’s not your lying eyes you should be worried about, it’s your lying sources.

Without COVID-19 deaths, we’re between right at to just slightly above the expected number of deaths from all other causes. However, when you look at all causes (including COVID-19), we’re WAY above the expected number of deaths every single week since March. To the tune of something like 200,000.
Get better sources of data and your eyes will stop lying to you.
This is the same old nonsense that's already been posted multiple times. No, that is not what those numbers mean. Just because someone also had another condition does not mean they didn't die from Covid.
Here's what this year looks like:
Before mid‐March, overall U.S. deaths were trending at a level no different from recent years at between 55‐60,000 per week.
Beginning in the week ending on March 28, all‐cause deaths began rising sharply, peaking in the week ending April 11 at around 75,000, or 137% of Expected Deaths for the week. Immediately thereafter, all-caused deaths began dropping sharply.
Within five weeks, all‐cause deaths were back to their typical range. By the week ending May 16, the measurable pandemic death impact had ended even though Covid19‐related deaths most certainly had not.
At least in this 8‐week period, the Covid19 pandemic was considerably worse than a typical flu season. To the extent that all‐cause deaths fell back to expected levels during May, the excess mortality attributable to the pandemic has passed.
Somehow, the changing pattern of American life during the lockdowns has been saving the lives of hundreds of infants, over 200 per week.

AND HERE'S A STATE BY STATE COMPARISON:
Many states actually saw lower than expected deaths during the period. To be sure, an excess death rate of 5% for the entire U.S. is considerable but also far short of the apocalyptic narrative the pandemic has received.
Variation by policy environment To the extent that policies have varied across the states, it is not clear that the imposition and/or presence of stringent lock‐down policies had much to do with the variation in excess deaths. Less stringent lockdown policies were not associated with higher death rates.
In fact, the 5 states that chose not to impose a lockdown are among the roughly 20 jurisdictions with no excess deaths at all. ...snip...
Meanwhile CMS and the CDC are tightening restrictions to continue to strangle our economy.
It’s just as much BS to act as if the 100% of the 94% with comorbidities would have survived the comorbidities without covid.
