China has lost a lot of food production this year. So has Africa and the Middle East where there was a locust plague. We have lost a lot of food during the early part of the virus as well. We are having food problems, and probably will for a while. If we turn marxist, it might be for a long time.
I ordered a chest freezer the end of March; they’re still out of stock. Now I’m looking at getting it maybe around Thanksgiving...
We lost food production because of the virus, but there are also those storms that hit Iowa and wiped out a chunk of the corn crop.
And winter isn't here yet.
There are still harvests to be had.
COVID caused major supply chain issues. Half the food production was geared towards restaurants and such. They lost entire crops of livestock because production issues.
