Jake Tapper: Black RNC Speakers "Asking You To Disbelieve What You Already Think"
RCP video ^ | 8-29-2020 | Ian Schwartz

TAPPER: .....look, every political convention is propaganda, but I don't know that we've ever been fed a staple of propaganda like this.

And what's so interesting about the last four days, Abby, is that they are asking the American people to not believe what they already think, according to polls. They are saying they had individual after individual say, I wish you could see what he's really like behind the scenes.

I wish you could see it as if that would change the perceptions that the American people have, a majority disapproving of the president. So many Americans think he's racist -- oh no, he's not. You need to believe, he likes black people.

So many Americans think he is a sexist or a misogynist. He's not, he's done so many things for women. So many people think that he's xenophobic and he hates immigrants. Oh no, he's not. Here is at a naturalization ceremony.

And so many Americans and this is why he's so vulnerable, even if the race does tighten a little, so many Americans disapprove of the job he has done with the coronavirus because they see the evidence before their eyes as to how the administration response has not been adequate.

They see it and the message has been, oh no, he did a really good job. They're asking you to disbelieve what you already think, Wolf.

Tapper and CNN. Think, according to the polls. SMH.

Live by the polls, die by the polls. And they swear all the polls are true. Because. We told you so.

And shut up.

I haven’t seen Democrats so scared of blacks since the Nat Turner revolt.

"Asking You To Disbelieve What You Already Think"

Yes. That's education, and it requires an open mind, i.e. liberalism.

President Hillary believed the polls. How did that work out?

In fact, they are, they are asking you, Jake Tapper, to liberate yourself from uncritical groupthink, and THINK.

Yes, it’s called Waking Up. The precise opposite of Woke, which is a state of fantasy and delusion.

I am going to share a discovery with you that explains everything the left says and does.

First, let me introduce you to Irving Lester Janis (26 May 1918 - 15 November 1990).

He was a research psychologist at Yale University and a professor emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley.

He is most famous for his theory of “groupthink” which described the systematic errors made by groups when taking collective decisions.

REF: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/groupthink Groupthink is a type of thought within a deeply cohesive in-group whose members try to minimize conflict and reach consensus without critically testing, analyzing, and evaluating ideas.

Mr. Janis studied a number of American Foreign policy ‘disasters’ such as failure to anticipate the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor (1941); the Bay of Pigs fiasco (1961) when the US administration sought to overthrow Cuban Government of Fidel Castro; and the prosecution of the Vietnam War (1964-67) by President Lyndon Johnson.

Studying these events, it was the cohesive nature of these important committees which made these decisions and which prevented contradictory views being expressed. As defined by Janis, “A mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members’ strivings for unanimity override their motivation to realistically appraise alternative courses of action”.

Individual creativity, uniqueness, and independent thinking are lost in the pursuit of group cohesiveness, as are the advantages of reasonable balance in choice and thought that might normally be obtained by making decisions as a group.

During groupthink, members of the group avoid promoting viewpoints outside the comfort zone of consensus thinking. A variety of motives for this may exist such as a desire to avoid being seen as foolish, or a desire to avoid embarrassing or angering other members of the group. Groupthink may cause groups to make hasty, irrational decisions, where individual doubts are set aside, for fear of upsetting the group’s balance.

To make groupthink testable, Janis devised eight symptoms indicative of groupthink (1977).

1. Illusions of invulnerability creating excessive optimism and encouraging risk taking.

2. Rationalizing warnings that might challenge the group’s assumptions.

3. Unquestioned belief in the morality of the group, causing members to ignore the consequences of their actions.

4. Stereotyping those who are opposed to the group as weak, evil, biased, spiteful, disfigured, impotent, or stupid.

5. Direct pressure to conform placed on any member who questions the group, couched in terms of “disloyalty”.

6. Self censorship of ideas that deviate from the apparent group consensus.

7. Illusions of unanimity among group members, silence is viewed as agreement.

8. Mind guards — self-appointed members who shield the group from dissenting information.

While Janis’ research provided behaviors to avoid during decision making, he unwittingly uncovered the most effective way to manipulate and control opinion.

The power mad and constitution hating left embraced and institutionalized those behaviors throughout their political machinery.

The MSM was assigned the role of mind guard. The front of objective journalism was established with phony awards like the Pulitzer to promote the myth of journalistic integrity. There are no journalists on the left, just pitchmen.

When you call a leftist stupid for what they say, like Biden or Krugmen or whoever, realize they know exactly what they are saying and doing. They are following the groupthink template and taking advantage of those who put way too much emphasis on group affiliation by nature or coercion.

Hanging on the wall of every leftist leader is the following:

Eight Commandments of the Liberal Left - recast here from Irving Janis (Yale) groupthink behaviors:

I Thou shalt create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking

II Thou shall not allow any member to question the group’s inherent morality, instead members shall be encouraged to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions

III Thou shalt promote collective efforts to rationalize in order to discount warnings, or other information that might lead members to reconsider their assumptions before they recommit themselves to their assumptions

IV Thou shalt reinforce stereotyped views of enemy leaders as too evil to warrant genuine attempts to negotiate, or as too weak and stupid to counter whatever risky attempts are made to defeat their purpose

V Thou shalt self-censor any deviation from the apparent group consensus, inclining each member to minimize the importance of their doubts and counterarguments

VI Thou shalt create and maintain a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgement conforming to the majority view

VII Thou shalt apply direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group’s stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, making clear that this type of dissent is contrary to what is expected of all loyal members

VIII Thou shalt appoint mind guards to protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions.

Eddie01 circa ‘98

As a fun exercise, think of any maddening leftist comment and see how many of the above apply.

Everything the left does, every strategy they devise, has it’s foundation in the above.

... but I don't know that we've ever been fed a staple of propaganda like this.

Poor Jake, he thinks his opinion is fact so whatever disagrees with these facts must be propaganda (and lies!) Actually, I think that it is written into his CNN Contract as well. Hope you have some pain relievers for November, more & more I think we may be getting the job done.

Generally, in historical perspective, the MSM LEFT spends the time after the GOP Convention in pointing out how much better the Democrat boost was from their Convention. Hmmm, what happened to that?

Jake Tapper is upset because the Republicans are saying something that Jake Tapper doesn’t want you to know.

Exactly correct! Years of the Democrats and the corrupt MSM calling Republicans racists, yes, Republicans are are actually trying to show you the TRUTH.

The corrupt MSM always go way out of their way to pound the drum that cast Republicans as racists and then at any Blacks are therefore reluctant to show up at a Republican event the corrupt MSM then gleefully points out that there is no diversity, thus "proving" there point that Republicans hate Black people and the few who show up are dismissed as props.

You see how this all works.

First, why are people like Tapper considered journalists, and not just opinion show hosts? I don't know him, and don't wish him ill, but I also don't want his singular opinions to have undue weight because they are falsely characterized as 'news'. Calling him a 'news anchor' is ridiculous.

For context, here's an excerpt from Politico, from about 7 years ago:

Tapper, now 45, took a circuitous route to journalism. After graduating from Dartmouth, he ended up at film school in California. “I spent the entire time in film production class listening to the Clarence Thomas hearings on my Walkman,” he says. “So I was like, ‘OK, I should not be here.’”

He returned to Philadelphia, jumped on the congressional campaign of a family friend, Marjorie Margolies, and followed her to Washington as her press secretary. Margolies speaks about Tapper like a mother boasting of her son’s many sparkling qualities. She especially prized, she says, his puckish sense of humor. Margolies, who is now Chelsea Clinton’s mother-in-law and running for office again after having been bounced out in 1994, recalls Tapper making copies of the photo of a famously annoying campaign volunteer, and hiding cutouts of her face around the office. “You’d hear someone say, ‘Oh God, no!’” Margolies says. “You’d open the congressional directory and her picture would be there.”

Pranks aside, Tapper was growing bored with life as a lowly Hill aide, and he took a job at a PR firm, Powell Tate. It was no more fulfilling. “Those were the years of misery and woe,” he says. “That was goatees and American Spirit cigarettes and ‘What am I going to do with my life?’ kind of thing. On the Road in my back pocket.” He laughs. “I wish this was a joke. I wish I was just trying to describe how BuzzFeed would describe a stereotype from the ’90s, but that actually was me.”

Dear GOD Jake Tapper - that’s the definition of debate and discussion. Something people with free minds and liberty do in a free country.

You’re arguing for totalitarianism or an oppressive communist state. Not that that’s surprising.

Thank you, Eddie01. Next to Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals," this companion piece to the evil machinations of Democrats/Marxists is a must read.

Well done.

I know that I saw Joe Biden’s hands all over children and women who were clearly uncomfortable with it. But you don’t want to talk about that. Why not?
