In addition, hurricane force winds will stretch into Arkansas. Millions of trees will be down and the flooding will be a multi state occurrence.
Any president proceeding with a speech in which millions are aversely affected would be considered incredibly insensitive, which Trump is not.
He will give his speech next week. Count on it.
Makes sense.
I agree.
The RNC is lucky their convention doesn’t have the big crowd of delegates in the huge stadium. That would be expensive and difficult to cancel and re-schedule. Trump can give his speech next week without much effort and the build-up will be huge. Plus he’ll look presidential and thoughtful until then.
The hurricane is already down to a Cat 2 and will be a tropical depression, if that, by the time the speakers start RNC Day 4 later today. By then Trump would have worked with the political leaders of the affected areas and already have massive federal resources onsite with more heading their way. In fact, don't be surprised to see Trump make an appearance down there this afternoon. Even so, he'll be back at the WH for his planned acceptance speech.
As for Kamala speaking for Biden, best thing for Trump to do is ignore her and her speech entirely. He should not be elevating her to opponent status. Let Pence say a few words in retort - if even necessary.
After all the preparation at the White House? He isn't going to let it go to waste. Count on it.
