The scriptures tell us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind / let this mind be in you as it was in Jesus. I like to refer to the three tenses of Salvation:

I was Justified the moment I believed and began trusting in Jesus as the One Whom God sent for my salvation. I am being transformed / Sanctified by the renewing of my mind (albeit ever so slowly due to my un cooperation at times). I will be Glorified when He comes for us in the gathering unto himself at the Rapture.

Jesus paid the price for sin upon the spirit of men with His death upon the cross. He did not make that sacrifice to redeem the flesh, raher He redeems the spirit, then begins the sanctification of our behavior mechanism which will be finalized and perfected in the twinkling of an eye.

No not to redeem the flesh....I acknowledge that but rather there do seem to be positive effects on the flesh when the individual allows him or herself to be led by the Spirit! That’s all I was saying. The geneticists i read about were looking for evidence regarding what it said in the Decalogue regarding the sins of the fathers being visited upon the sons unto the 3rd and 4th generation and indeed claimed to have caused that link. They also found strong evidence that a life of repentence(referencing Ezekiel 18) showed positive genetic marker change in the individual after such salvation had been acheived. In Ezekiel 18 the prophet rejects the notion that a person with sinful parents has to remained trapped in a sinful pattern if such a person does good and seeks salvation from God. The geneticists found positive genetic marker changes in such people which were at variance with their parents who may not have lived Godly lives. They were looking more into the notion that such changes negative or positive occurred immediately depending on the activities and lifestyles of the persons involved. Our iniquities and our good works literally get written into our genetic code as they occur. Sin literally does bring death but being led by the Spirit brings life and it does show up in our faces and appearances. It’s not just about diet and health as many unsaved persons are healthy. The geneticists postulate that the changes we see affect the very genes we carry almost instantaneously. Where they havehad “before and after” lab and tissue samples they’ve been able to show positive correlations between genetic marker changes and spiritual beliefs or lack thereof. The third and 4 generation effect does seem to be a thing and so does the “if the soul lives to God, it shall not die” principle. Fascinating stuff!
