Yep. I think that is the downside to the prosperity that most people have in the USA. Its not like people are exposed to a real danger of death every day. So there is not much opportunity to develop a robust psychological framework to coping with possible dangers.
Just because you might die, doesn’t mean that ordinary problems like work and bills are going to stop bothering you.
I’d be interested to know if there is a difference between cancer survivors and the fear levels towards covid.
I am a childhood cancer survivor and I do not fear COVID at all.
