This is why liberals think America is systemically racist. They live in a bubble and only talk to each other. EVERYBODY they know has exactly this ind of attitude towards blacks and other minorities.
Their view of minorities hasn’t changed one iota — not one jot or tittle — in 400 years. They’e changed tactics, but that’s it.
There is more than one way to enslave people. One is to work them without pay; another is to pay them without work. Both are the tactics of Democrats. That’s why the inner cities are the way they are — because racist liberals who still think they own black people have been in charge of the urban plantation for as long as anyone can remember.
It’s also why they so fervently oppose any measure to improve black lives. There was a thriving black middle class until we declared War on Poverty in the 1960s. Now all the things that keep you poor and dependent — especially if you’re a minority — have been subsidized and therefore increased dramatically. And the Democrats’ only “solution” is to do more of that.
Why is that? It’s because they live in a bubble with people who think just like they do and who enforce that orthodoxy brutally, and that orthodoxy includes maintaining and expanding a permanent underclass because “those people” (if indeed, they’re thought of as people at all) “aren’t as worthy” as the white liberal elites. They’re entitled because in their minds, they’re your betters.
Now shut up and do what they tell you.

James Brown used the phrase “do for self” in one of his lesser known songs (I’m blanking on the name) during the civil rights era. I hadn’t realized until now that it probably originated with Malcolm X.
I read the Autobiography of Malcolm X and came away with the impression that he was very a very intelligent person. Not that you have to be a genius to see through liberal BS.

Snopes and “fact check” would label false, saying X didn’t mean today’s liberal and leftists and all the white BLM.
He was a VERY high IQ individual, and had started to realize, shortly before being assassinated, that skin color was not a determinant of whether a person was good or bad. Had he lived I think he would have done a lot of good encouraging self-reliance in the black community.
Yes, I think so too. No doubt that’s why he got rubbed out.
BTW, just glanced at the Nation of Islam Wikipedia page and was surprised to see that in recent years it has embraced many of the doctrines and methods of the "Church" of Scientology, with which it apparently has s symbiotic relationship of sorts. Weird stuff, these cult.
