Debates may not be what they were in pre-covid days. Dems and media can insist on video “distanced” debates, like a “Zoom” conference, where the media will have complete control over who gets asked what, who gets to say what and when they get cut off.
The speech was empty as was the entire Democrat convention. The Fake News Media can rant and rave all they choose, but, the American people, as judged by the very low TV & various Media, viewership are not interested in what the Democrats have to say. The first three days of the convention saw lousy, low TV viewership. It will be interesting to see what the TV viewer numbers will be for the tonight Biden taped presentation.
Judging from the meek number of cars in the outside parking lot, to cheer Biden on, Biden is far from the most popular politician in the USA!!! The Trump rally in Pennsylvania today had thousands more folks outside the rally proper and blew the Biden low turnout away...plus Biden looked tired and worn out in giving a very short and lack of real substance and actions across the board!!!

If Biden could do that ackward and socially distanced interview with Obama a few weeks back, no excuse not to debate Trump. But you’re right about low expectations for Joe: anuthing short of not drooling or soiling himself and the usual suspects are clamouring it’s the.greatest speech of all time.
For anyone who believes that reptilians from outer space live among us disguised as humans, Joe Biden is Exhibit A.

What a load of empty tripe this speech was. He mocks Trump by saying there will be no miracle to stop Covid. Then he pushes the mask mandate and will miraculously provide some fantastic new testing with instant results and his administration will end the crisis. Miraculous. He did not present anything new on anything. Lots of new taxes on the ‘rich’, which means all of us. High pay for essential govt workers, more laws to stop right to work and force union control, and on and on. There is plenty to shoot at with this empty speech and Joe’s brilliant career of nearly 50 years in govt with no major accomplishments.
Did anyone else notice the similarity between Biden and Hitler’s speech mannerisms. It is rather alarming.

They don't have to have an audience. They just have to have two lecterns or tables and the interrogators can be separated in the audience rather than together in the same booth.

That seems like a likely scenario, even with a vaccine that could just be getting rolled out at the same time.
He mentioned the Covington, Va. incident with all the white supremacists. That was overblown nonsense compared to the violence and destruction by BLM and Antifa in DemoRat run cities. Maybe because as Nadler the Jobber says ‘ it’s a myth’.
I agree. My wife and I said the same thing. He didn’t saying anything of note, but the fact that he said it without screwing up is all the DNC and media needed, and they got it. We’ll not see Joe again before November. From now on it will be up Heels up and the media to handle the campaign for him. It would have been nice if he had come across as your crazy, senile uncle, but he didn’t.
I think it's just the opposite - I think he's pretending to BE senile. I came away from his speech thinking that he's been pretending all along. There was nothing wrong with him during that speech. His eyes were clear, he used the right inflection, didn't lose his place and didn't seem to stumble once. Yup, I think he is faking his senility.
Well, he just lost my vote with that mask thingee.
