You could agree with Fauci in March that they don’t work.

Or you could agree with him now, when they do.

Or you could agree with the Netherlands who told its citizens not to wear them as they can cause more problems than they help.

Or you could agree with the CEDC and OSHA, both say they don’t protect from the virus and cause other problems.

But do let us know if you figure it all out.

Fauci is like Jim Kerry on most of the pivotal issues involving the virus.

Towards figuring anything out on my own - well its a bit of a challenge as creating apparatus to conduct experiments has been a research project in of itself and then constructing the apparatus well its frickin time consuming so I'm getting close to the point of starting try out some experiments and if there is anything resembling science I will of course let people know.

Most of my research to this point has been on virus membranes, particulate matter filtration and sensing, the electric charge of the various tiny crap involved, fluid dynamics, recent advances in microscopy (google Super-resolution microscopy - bring optical microscopy into the nano meter dimension which is what we need to view the virus in real time amazing!) and surface enhanced raman spectrophopy (SERS). Lots of research into meta-materials.

To that end I've build several 3d printer filament extruders and splicers so as to print both sensors and possible filter media as well as mask designs.

One of the principle challenges is the virus is so tiny 50-30 nm range - also find a suitable substitute to work with as I don't want that stuff around while reinventing wheels.

Are there are a ton of air conditioning systems that are going to need to up their antiviral game? My guess is yes and thats a very big business opportunity.

Plus I've been able to justify buying some cool tools for the shop. I'm under no illusions I'll discover anything I just want to understand really what the issues are outside the shouting.
