Clyde’s Whirlpool plant may be the poster child for job creation and retention for Trump as the company has been able to retain jobs and create new ones after Trump upheld a 50% tariff on imports of large residential washing machines. Companies such as LG ( S Korean multinational corp) and Samsung were threatening Whirlpool’s future viability by “dumping” foreign-made washing machines far below market value.
