Anyone shining a laser in my eyes while I am standing on my front porch would receive a rapid kinetic response from me. And in TX, there might be 4 or 5 counties where I would be concerned about legal ramifications if I were defend myself on my own property in the manner I have in mind.

Since the results of shining a laser in someone’s eyes is permanent, shouldn’t the punishment for doing it also be permanent? Life in prison at the very least.
We lived just SW of Portland for a few yrs back in the 80s, so glad we left.
Agreed. I’d either send 5.56 back to the origin of the laser...or maybe my own. I have a green laser that is far, far above the typical “laser pointer” output. It is actually the size of a regular flashlight, runs on C batteries. I can see the beam in the air in a normally lit room. I’ve bounced it off cliffs over 2 miles away and the dot is visible... It is really intended as a teaching tool - the beam is so bright/visible in the air it is great at pointing out stars, constellations, things like that. If someone wanted to argue whether or not a laser merited a lethal force response fine...I’ll respond in kind.

In SC I think you can stand your ground. Shining a laser into an eye could do great bodily injury (blind for life). That should be grounds to defend yourself with deadly force.
Blinding lasers? I have my own. Military grade lasers. I can set them on fire and would in an instant.
Yep... blinding lasers meets the criteria for the use of deadly force in my book.
