The US has done contact tracing for decades for various diseases and it’s nothing like what’s described in the article. There are a bunch of different CDC resources and guidelines for how to do it. Here’s one for contact tracing with STDS: https://www.ncsddc.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/infographic_5-26-16.pdf

Basically, if you test positive, a contact tracer will ask if you’ve had any recent extended contact with persons outside your household (for example, if you attended a party at someone’s house or hung out with a friend). If you choose to provide contact information for individuals, they’ll contact them and tell them they’ve been exposed to someone (they can’t say who) who tested positive. As a result, it’s recommended they get tested as soon as possible and isolate themselves for a few days while monitoring for symptoms.

Here’s the CDC guidance on contact tracing for COVID-19: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/principles-contact-tracing.html

And here’s what they say about what happens if someone who tests positive says they were hanging out with you: “Contacts are provided with education, information, and support to understand their risk, what they should do to separate themselves from others who are not exposed, monitor themselves for illness, and the possibility that they could spread the infection to others even if they themselves do not feel ill.”

Nothing in there about locking people up or tracking peoples’ movements or any of the rest of this conspiracy theory nonsense.

The right is as bad as the left in keeping tensions up aren’t they?

Except for that couple in TN who were tracked, placed under house arrest, and forced to wear ankle bracelets to monitor their movements after they refused to "voluntarily" sign a quarantine order.

A squad of armed law enforcement officers showed up at their door to make sure they obeyed the orders. An isolated test case "Pour encourager les autres", I suppose.

The CDC "guidelines" don't say anything about that. But that is how things were implemented. And there has been no significant push back.

Just another bit of "conspiracy theory nonsense", no doubt.

Oh there’s plenty about locking people up and yes, taking children from the home “if needed.”

Testing is not optional. A husband and wife were given ankle braclets and ordered to stay home because they declined to sign the documents saying they would not leave their home based on the wording, which made it sound like they wouldn’t even leave to go to the hospital.

You lose your rights. If you have to share a household restroom with others, you’ll be rehoused. That’s not your choice. You WILL be rehoused. If it is deemed “necessary” to take your children from your home to “protect them” they will do it.

You can be quarantined repeatedly. First you were exposed at point A, quarantined, and then someone else you had lunch with tested positive (with faulty tests) and you’re quarantined again. You are quarantined until they say you can leave.

In the UK, someone in isolation “got away” and they want after them, prosecution etc.

Yet.

We’re already living the beginnings of 1984.

If you think they are going to pass up such an ideal opportunity, guess again.

Do you REALLY think that all this lockdown and stuff is because they are concerned about our health? That the politicians have OUR best interests at heart?

In Kentucky if you don’t agree to follow their instructions they come out and put an ankle monitor on you. If you remove it you go to jail.
