Not all vets are upright, moral, or pro-America. I was a linguist in the USAF and entered service in 1987. Of my fellow linguists who were USAF, easily half grew into rabid leftists. I had the misfortune of looking them up about ten years ago on Farcebook. They never grew out of it.

I can’t name a single recent veteran who has gone into politics who hasn’t gone hard Left (the possible exception is that one guy with the eyepatch whose names escapes me).
Yup there is never any guarantee. Some are just using it as a decent job.
Another reason to never put your full trust in MIL. Never mind that leftists desire greatly to use it.
