Re: Once I read something about last days I stop reading. I wonder how many hundreds of generations have taught that.
Since the rapture was invented in the 1800s that cant be too many generations who have thought that. But end times has been thought of for a while.
We humans have so much pride and it is our downfall. We live here a pathetic 80 or 90 years if we are lucky and we think that end times is going to come.
As if time could stop.
Apologies to all for going off topic. (Don’t want to offend anyone’s firmly closed mind. /sarc) But since you brought it up...
Time does stop. I have known lots of people for whom time has stopped.
Now I don’t know where you got your 1800’s idea of the rapture being invented then (you seem to be stuck there back in the 1800’s), but maybe that was when the terminology “rapture” was originally used to refer to the “being caught up...,” and has remained in use since then?
As I understand it, “post rapture” time continues on, just without “the believers aka saved.” And if you think things are bad now, maybe you should try to imagine living in the middle of CWII with no friendlies around. But then again, maybe that would be an improvement for you without those evil “Bible thumpers” around?
The best I can tell the “rapture” refers to:
1 Thessalonians 4:17
“After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.”
As for the last days, I did a quick word search and cut and paste for you. BTW, I used the NIV because it’s easier for me to understand. You might prefer a Greek version, or least the “authorized” KJV version approved by King James, himself of England.
Isaiah 2:2
In the last days the mountain of the Lords temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.
Micah 4:1
The Mountain of the Lord
In the last days the mountain of the Lords temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.
Acts 2:17
In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
2 Timothy 3:1
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
Hebrews 1:2
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
James 5:3
Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.
2 Peter 3:3
Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.
Thank you for clarifying that the act of rapture was not made up, unless of course you dont believe Gods word. Thanks again.
AND, spend some quality time at your reloading bench!
