A few years ago I saw a story about a long-time bar owner who had saved all his change over the years in jars, crocks, etc, in the bar basement.

I forget the exact amount he had but I want to say it was around $140,000 in change just sitting there.

If everyone across the country would cash in their change jars they’d probably still say there’s a coin shortage, because I don’t think there’s really a coin shortage.

Saving change in jars adds up fast! A friend of mine suggested saving $5 bills. Every time I had a 5 I’d put it in an envelope. After about 6 months (and 4 envelopes) I had just under $1000.00.
