Quite right! The 1st and 2nd amendments apply to every citizen. I wouldn’t want anyone else’s rights to be denied them just as I’d fight to prevent those same rights being denied me.

Watching that video reminded me of an incident that happened to me in the late '60s after I got back from Vietnam and was relaxing in a canyon in California, waiting for a friend to join me for some hiking and shooting. I had a six pack of sodas in a stream to cool them down and I had an AR-7 .22 rifle for the day's shooting when I saw a string of men who appeared to be Black Panthers approaching from down canyon and they were heavily armed and wearing bandoliers of ammo. A couple of them had huge afros and all of them watched me with grim expressions.

I was sure that it wasn't going to be a good day as I tried to figure out how my 8-shot .22 was going to help me against 5 men at once. I watched them and they watched me, as they passed - and one of them says "hey - did you bring something to drink? We didn't and it's hot".

I had the 6-pack and shared it with them and I found out that these guys were gun collectors and hobby shooters like me and we had a great afternoon shooting each other's weapons and exchanging contact information.

The funniest part of that afternoon was as we were all heading back to our cars. One of the guys said "I don't want to offend you, but you really had us worried when we first saw you". (!) So much for judging a book by its cover..
