Nah.
This country went BOOM last night.
Yes there were fireworks going before July 4 but nothing like last night.
I just perused DU and they HATE fireworks over there.
Someone called the cops on their neighbor for shooting them off and they were all high fiviing her and complaining about the fireworks in their own neighborhood.
Of course, patriotism to dems is like sunlight to a vampire.
Tee hee.
What u said!
Same here. I have lived at my current residence almost 10 years and have never seen and heard so many fireworks as there were last night. It was awesome!
Undocumented fireworks were going off all over Ventura County CA last night.
Very busy and fun.
And then theres this.....
Twice on July Fourth, police declare riot in downtown Portland

Cant declare a riot any other time, but if it happens on the Fourth, its a riot for sure.
Gotta squash those patriots exercising their Constitutional rights.
The moon in and out of the clouds was a nice touch to things last night
On Alabama we loves us some pyrotechnics...
Our city council voted to DO IT! and they did it TWO nights instead of the usual ONE! It was awesome.
They figured with 178 acres, we could distance ourselves appropriately. We watched from our driveway!
Working in a hospital ER during this ‘’pandemic’’ and seeing the reality of the ‘’zombie apocalypse'' that DIDNT happen has made me furious, impaitent with just about every thing and every body and silently screaming for it all to end.
After a family and friend BBQ last night, my son had to take his MIL back to town after 10PM. He couldn’t believe the fireworks!!
One particularly great display was in the street between Tractor Supply and the library. The cops weren’t stopping any of them and they were easy to find.
They've been blowing off rockets and "bombs" for days...leading up to last night.
7p to 2a...last night.
I stayed in the city to make sure my office didn't burn down...
My Border Collies...HATE thunder and fireworks.
They slept with me...inside.
Did not burn down...was a long night though.
My son is currently on a boat just out of Mobile in south Alabama. There is a huge Trump boat parade going on. Supposedly 10000 boats. Don’t know if it’s that big, but it stretches completely along the Alabama coast.
This wasn't some “conservative” “pushback”.
The powers that be decided to cancel our annual celebration. This resulted in an excess of high grade Fireworks along with idle hands and some extra cash from the stimulus. This was a significant factor for the fireworks over the last several weeks.
Last night seemed to me to be more of a general “Revolt” by Americans regardless of political leanings. We were told no, now go home and cower while awaiting their next proclamation.
Our response seemed to be that we'll only listen to a point, and that we don't need their approval to celebrate and have a good time.
(!snicker!)
I’m with you.
It’s been weird.
I say “been” because I do not think those booms across this country was coincidental. Americans did not plan such a thing, there were no ANTIFA types. Americans went out, as if with one mass thought, and celebrated the birth of our country.
It was great, never mind my dog. My dog has been with me for four years now. She’s never shown such fear (I have had many dogs who were terrified of thunder so I know) but I looked out last night and the skies were filled with lights, the BOOMS, the BOOMS. All over FreeRepublic today people are reporting this along the same lines.
Listen, we are good people. We felt for George Floyd, the guy in Atlanta. We are not racists and we know it. We had this pandemic and we listened and at times we got mocked for our reticence.
But we have children and parents and grandparents and this is all new to us.
So some hoity toity elected aholes use their power to control us and again, it’s all knew to us.
But last night....last night guys......
.......BOOM!
BINGO!
The BOOM that counts came from Mt. Rushmore.
The President said what needed to be said, and he said it the way it needed to be said. Subtlety and nuance ain’t what’s called for.
I share that opinion. Where I live, fireworks always went off all summer long, maybe because there never was much to do around here.
I still don’t understand why fireworks were deemed taboo. There’s extreme social distancing.
Just another way to destroy celebrating America.
