Provo does set a precedent. Now if anyone is stopped/trapped by a crowd of "protesters" (aka rioters, looters, & thugs) they can reasonably say they are in fear for their lives.

Think about it, you turn a corner and are immediately surrounded by dozens of armed thugs. (yes, carrying clubs or other improvised weapons makes them armed) You are now in a life-or-death situation with only seconds to react and respond.

The precedent Provo now gives us is we can rationally and reasonably claim in that situation we are in fear for our lives. In my State, that means I may use deadly force to escape or end the situation. I will drive over or through anyone I have to. I will use the 9mm and spare mags I am now carrying to clear a path. I will not stop until I am out of sight and +5 miles or so from the protest. If I am followed in a vehicle then all traffic laws just became null and void - I will evade. I will evade again aided by the 9mm if necessary.

This is what Provo has done. It has set the stage for even more violence.

Another reason why I’m glad I stocked up on 30 round mags for the Glock 10mm.

Road blocks and mobs beating people in the street is not “the right of the people peaceably to assemble”, as described in our Bill of Rights.

Standing on the side of the road waving a sign or meeting in a public place for speeches and discussions are reasonable.

But as soon as you step out into the street, blocking lawful travelers, you have committed a crime and are no longer a peaceful protester..

Blocking roads prevents the truck driver from making a living, the ambulance from saving a persons life, a doctor from making it to the hospital....all of which are violent criminal acts.

In the State of South Carolina: If someone unlawfully and forcefully enters your occupied vehicle you have the right to shoot. If they try to pull you out of your car, you can shoot. I recommend having a 360 degree coverage dash camera in today’s environment.

Note never point a gun in SC unless you are in the process of defending yourself.

The national news is not cover Provo, because they do not want people researching their State Laws on Stand Your Ground.

From watching the videos of protesters trying to pull people out of their cars (you can shoot if they try to pull you our of your car), if people knew there rights their would be a lot of dead protestors. At least in SC, not sure about other States.
